When you are looking for the most affordable entry-level model, the Besen 7 kW is an even more affordable alternative to the Loady and also does not have an integrated MID meter. The i-MiEV has a Type 1 charging port, while modern EV chargers normally have a Type 2 socket. You therefore need a Type 1 to Type 2 charging cable. This allows you to charge the car without any problems using a modern home charger.
How long does it take to charge the Mitsubishi i-MiEV?
With a usable battery capacity of 14.5 kWh and a charging power of 3.7 kW, the i-MiEV can be charged from empty to full in approximately 4.5 hours. When you connect the car in the evening, it will be fully charged the following morning. A more powerful EV charger will not reduce this charging time because the car automatically limits the charging power to 3.7 kW. During a journey, you can use a CHAdeMO fast charger. The i-MiEV can charge at up to 40 kW and recover most of its battery capacity in approximately 21 minutes.

Does the Mitsubishi i-MiEV charge faster with an 11 kW EV charger?
No. The onboard charger of the i-MiEV cannot accept more than 3.7 kW on a single-phase connection. An 11 or 22 kW charger can provide more power, but the car will not use the additional capacity. A single-phase EV charger that can provide at least 3.7 kW is therefore sufficient.
