Kia e-Niro 64 kWh (2020-2021) EV charger: which one fits best?
The Kia e-Niro 64 kWh from model years 2020 and 2021 charges at home through a Type 2 connection. This version has the 11 kW three-phase onboard charger. Three-phase means the car draws power over all three phases at once, so it charges faster. Does your e-Niro have the 7.2 kW single-phase charger instead? Then the 2018-2019 version listed below carries the figures for your car. Our overview of all Kia EV chargers lets you compare the options before you choose.
For the Kia e-Niro 64 kWh (2020-2021) we recommend a charger from our 11 kW EV chargers.

Which EV charger suits the Kia e-Niro 64 kWh (2020-2021)?
This e-Niro takes 11 kW over three phases, so a three-phase 11 kW charger uses everything the car can take. The battery is then full in about six hours. A more powerful 22 kW charger does not charge the car any faster, because the car sets the limit.
Also look at a charger with a MID meter, a certified kWh meter. It measures the electricity you put into the car separately from the rest of the house. Without one, charging disappears into a single household total and you never see what it really costs. Reimbursing those costs to an employer or a lease company also becomes straightforward. You will find every model with a certified meter in our chargers with a MID meter, starting at 11 kW.
See all 11 kW EV chargers in our range, or browse our home EV chargers for the full home line-up. If you move to business charging later, the 22 kW EV chargers are worth comparing.
How long does the Kia e-Niro 64 kWh (2020-2021) take to charge?
You work out the charging time from the battery capacity divided by the charging power. With 64 kWh and an 11 kW charger you land at about six hours from empty to full. On a single-phase connection the car reaches 7.4 kW at 32 A, which takes roughly eight and a half hours. In both cases you plug in at night and drive off in the morning.
On the road the CCS fast charger takes you from 10 to 80 percent in about three quarters of an hour.
The e-Niro charges at home through the fixed cable of your charger, so you need no separate cable there. Want to charge at a public charging station too? Then a Type 2 charging cable is handy to carry with you.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Kia e-Niro 64 kWh (2020-2021) need a three-phase connection?
Only a three-phase connection lets this e-Niro use its full 11 kW. With a single phase you stay below that: 3.7 kW at 16 A and 7.4 kW at 32 A. An 11 kW charger works fastest on a three-phase group of 3 x 16 amps in your fuse box.
Why is a MID meter useful for the e-Niro?
A certified kWh meter records exactly how much power you charge at home. That reading stands separately from the rest of your household use, so you can see what charging actually costs. Do you have to account for it to an employer or a lease company? Then that certified figure is what makes your claim stand up.
Should I have the charger installed by an electrician?
We always recommend having the connection made by a qualified electrician, which is safer and important for your insurance. Wallbox Discounter arranges installation in the Netherlands, Flemish Belgium and Germany. Do you live outside those three countries? Then we ship the charger worldwide and you arrange the installation locally.
