Bidirectional EV charger
For a long time, bidirectional charging was seen as a promise for the future. With the introduction of this universal bidirectional EV charger, bidirectional charging is now possible at home. The Sigenergy DC charger allows your electric car to be used as a home battery, helping you manage your household energy consumption even more efficiently.
How does it work?
The Sigenergy DC charger uses DC charging technology. This is the same charging technology used by rapid chargers, for example along motorways. With DC charging, the conversion from alternating current to direct current takes place inside the charging station rather than inside the vehicle, as is normally the case with a standard home charger. This makes the charger larger and more expensive, but also considerably more advanced. The charger can communicate with the vehicle’s battery management system and instruct it to charge or discharge the battery. This makes it possible to use your electric car as a home battery and supply energy back to your own household.
